This has an introduction by Kenn Thomas of Steamshovel and shares much of its subject matter with Thomas’ magazine. That subject matter being UFOs; what I would call consciousness politics – drugs, mysticism, the paranormal, mind control, remote viewing; secrecy and conspiracy theories; the secret state; and the interfaces between many of these. As a 52-year old who took acid, read Leary, Reich, Lilly, Castaneda et al in the 1970s, to me this is interesting stuff. It is also the difficult stuff, the elusive stuff, the stuff you cannot ever quite pin down.
At the beginning of this anthology in an introduction by editor Bishop, he notes: ‘The writer, editors and readers of our zine revel in ambiguity.’ Amen to that. This volume is more oriented towards the UFO end of the spectrum, and the interface between the UFO and the state than Steamshovel. A fascinating read. These are smart people wrestling with tricky material.
